Consequently, The Leasing Foundation is running The New Leadership, a day-long discussion in London on 29 November, about how the industry can develop new approaches to leadership in the leasing and asset finance industry.

Professor Peter Thomas, COO at The Leasing Foundation (pictured above), explained: “The day is made up of short, focused talks from senior leaders from the industry on the leadership challenge – their insights into the future of leadership – and panel discussions and networking opportunities for existing and new leaders alike.”

He told Asset Finance International: “It’s a unique opportunity to come and talk about an issue that is not in focus for many organizations right now – but one that is incredibly important for an industry that is undergoing change in many dimensions”.

Themes for the day include creating a leadership pipeline, managing talent, leading for disruption, nurturing a leadership community, leading technology change, the role of women in leadership and the role of leaders in inspiring change.

Peter Thomas added: “Those who come along will have an opportunity to meet their peer group - and emerging leaders can network with senior colleagues to share experiences, exchange views and ideas and hopefully to crystallize real knowledge that they can take back to the workplace.”

The agenda includes:

● Leading the Future - Mike Randall, The Leasing Foundation;

● Leading Millennials - Nathan Mollett, Metro Bank;

● Women in Leadership panel - led by Jo Davis, Locke Lord;

● Connecting with Colleagues - Jonathan Andrew, Siemens Financial Services;
