In this newly-created role, Scalzone will be responsible for developing the bank’s asset finance broker business.

He will report directly to Jon Maycock, who was appointed as managing director of asset finance at the bank earlier this year.

Scalzone has 20 years’ asset finance experience and prior to joining the bank he was head of supplier sales at Shire Leasing. He previously worked at companies including CIT, De Lage Landen and GE Capital.

Scalzone said: “It is an exciting stage in the bank’s journey and I am looking forward to helping shape the strategic direction of the division as we head into the next phase of development.
