Canniffe brian

Global aircraft leasing company AerCap has appointed Brian Canniffe as group treasurer, effective from the start of 2018.

Canniffe joined AerCap in 2016 as head of investor relations and has more than 20 years of experience in banking, lending and the capital markets.

Prior to joining AerCap, he served as managing director and head of global markets financing for Bank of America Merrill Lynch in Hong Kong and Tokyo.

Aengus Kelly, chief executive officer of AerCap, said: “Brian’s extensive experience in the financial markets will be a great benefit to AerCap in his new role.”

The move will follow the retirement of current group treasurer Paul Rofe, who has held the position for 10 years.

Rofe played a key role in the growth of AerCap, including the acquisition of ILFC and raising more than $50 billion of funding during his tenure from a wide range of financial institutions and investors.

Kelly said: “We thank him for his outstanding service and wish him well in the future.”

AerCap has 1,539 owned, managed or on order aircraft in its portfolio and serves approximately 200 customers in around 80 countries.
