Our client a broad based asset financier are seeking to hire a Group Risk Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for maintaining processes, policies and procedures to identify and manage risk in across a number of divisions of our clients business.
- Responsible for managing significant risks to the group's customers, reputation, assets and the interests of stakeholders.
- To strengthen the group risk management function to effect transition towards greater independence.
- Undertake initial and continuing risk assessment for large asset-based lending exposures in two of our clients leasing businesses.
- Participate in material recoveries cases, including liaising with approval committees/external professionals/lawyers, proposing action plans to maximise recovery and monitoring progress.
- To assist the Head of Risk Management in the planning, designing and implementation of an
overall risk management process as it effects transition to greater independence.
- To be involved in other projects as and when required by the Head of Risk Management and
Board.
- Risk assessment; analysing upside and downside risks as well as identifying, describing and
estimating the quantitative and qualitative risks affecting the business.
- Risk evaluation; comparing estimated risks with risk criteria established the company such as costs, legal requirements and environmental factors.
- Risk reporting, including corporate governance involving external risk reporting to stakeholders.
- Conducting audits of risk and credit policies, including liaison with internal and external
audiences.
- Providing support, education and training to staff on risk.
Key Skills:
- Candidates should have 3 years or more experience in a relevant risk management or recoveries
role in a professional organisation, e.g. accountancy firm, law firm, asset finance company or bank.
- Relevant professional qualification (legal, insolvency, accountancy, banking) an advantage.
- A strong understanding of systems and processes for business and modelling experience (Excel).
- A strong understanding of statutory and management accounts.
- The role involves direction of asset-based recoveries in England and Scotland and a knowledge of the legal framework for recoveries in these areas is an additional advantage but is not essential.
- Knowledge of DPA and other relevant regulatory frameworks (CCA, CCD) an advantage
but, again, not essential.
