Our client seeks an account manager to build upon its existing engagement with the public sector sales staff at its IT vendor partner. Your role is to build relationships with approximately 20 sales staff selling a broad range of IT solutions into the public sector nationally.

Year one targets are very achievable at c£5M rising to c£7.5M in year two. Finance opportunity value of those you will engage with approaches £100M so there is no shortage of opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will build and manage a pipeline of business that achieves a variety of targets, dealing with issues such as credit, documentation, pricing, deal structuring, forecasting & business planning on an everyday basis.
  • You will be expected to build tactical & strategic relations with partner sales people and sales managers, directors and their customers across all functions finance, purchasing, tax, treasury, IT etc and must be able to travel nationally as customer needs dictate.

Key Skills:

  • You will be of graduate calibre intellect.
  • You must have a genuine knowledge of selling into the public sector and in a vendor driven environment preferably that of ICT finance of at least 3 years & ideally 5 years or more.
  • You will have experience & knowledge of all the issues surrounding public sector finance such as the Prudential Code & awareness of other funding options such as the Public Works Loan Board. 
  • Knowledge of & awareness of the role that advisors have in public sector finance procurement particularly Local Authority financing would also be beneficial.
  • You will have an adaptable selling style commensurate with selling into the public sector but you must also be someone with resilience & drive to be able to overcome obstacles both internally & externally.

Ideally you will be based in our commutable to the Thames Valley but strong candidates who are willing to travel nationally are also welcome to apply.

Package

Base salary range is to £50,000 and that level your on target earnings would be £83,000 + . Commission is uncapped for high achievers allowing a very realistic potential to earn to £100,000+ . All usual large company benefits are provided including a company car / allowance, life, health and attractive pension.
