Base salary to £70,000 + all large company benefits

As a result of the expansion of our clients business and increasing levels of statutory reporting, they wish to appoint a Senior Finance Manager who has strong accounting and tax technical knowledge, combined with a hands on, “can do” attitude. This is a new role within the business reporting directly into our clients Finance Director but with exposure across all areas of the business. As such it is a high profile role and will suit someone who is able to identify and act on items that will enhance the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive forward various technical projects.
• Assist in review of procedures to ensure that they fit with the new SAO rules.
• Preparation of Financial Accounts for several different entities.
• Provide technical support for the FD and the finance department.
• Consider aspects of VAT, including processing and following up HP bad debt reclaims and reviewing partial exemption, liaising with corporate Tax Department.
• Review VAT workpapers, complete and file VAT returns on time.
• Manage the interim and final audit by auditors.
• Involvement in systems development and upgrade projects.
• Involvement in Management reporting.
• Various ad hoc projects.
• Cover for the Finance Director and Accounts staff as required.
• Provide deal structuring advice to front office.
• Provide technical accounting and taxation advice to various parts of the business as required.

Key Skills:

• Our clients are seeking to appoint someone who is moving up in their career and has the potential to become a successor to the current FD. 
• The successful candidate must have worked for an asset financier / lessor & the ideal profile is someone who has gained experience in an SME/SMB sized lessor, or perhaps a global lessor but with in country legal entities & with a lot of autonomy & local responsibility to allow greatest possible exposure to all aspects of accounting department functions.
• Qualified accountant with high degree of industry specific technical tax and accounting knowledge.
• Ability to influence and manage others, whilst this role has no directs initially it will have in time.
• Experience of Alfa or similar leasing software.
• Confident oral and written communication skills.
• Commercial awareness.
• Effectively manage time in order to meet deadlines.

Package

Base salary range to £70,000 + all large company benefits including an additional performance related bonus, company car / car allowance may also be provided. All usual large company benefits including a very competitive non contributory pension scheme.
