Base salary range ideally to £40,000 but potentially for an exceptional candidate more may be available
Our client a leading HGV financier seeks an Area Sales Manager to take responsibility for the further development of relationships with a number of HGV distributors across the North West of England who sell c800 new and used trucks annually.
Your objectives will be to maintain and grow the existing high finance penetration levels selling a wide range of finance products including Operating Leasing, Contract Hire, Hire Purchase and Finance Lease and value added products of GAP insurance and vehicle insurance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage our clients relationship with the distributor ensuring that all requirements of both parties are met.
- Develop profitable new business on both new and used vehicles.
- Work with the distributors sales teams identifying and developing new business opportunities.
- Identify and develop appropriate campaigns to support the sale of new and used vehicles.
- Complete management reports as required.
- Sale of insurance products.
- Protect and promote our clients brand.
- Prepare credit proposals for approval by the credit team and/or Head Office as required.
- Load proposals onto the in house credit proposal system.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with Finance Administrator and other administration staff.
- Collections and other risk management work as required.
- Maintain an up to date knowledge of technical, legal and internal developments relevant to finance and insurance programmes and implement or recommend necessary and appropriate changes, involvement, and investment by the company.
Key Skills:
- You will have experience relevant to selling hire purchase, finance lease and operating lease/contract hire.
- Ability to interpret financial and commercial information in the context of our clients short and long term objectives, and where appropriate take or recommend practical actions to keep our client on track to achieve or exceed those objectives.
- Thorough and working knowledge of asset finance products.
- Excellent commercial acumen and the ability to forge strong working partnerships with the Distributor, Used Trucks Dept, and key internal managers.
- Proficient in Windows applications specifically Excel/Word/Outlook (training will be given for specific in house applications).
- Preferred candidates will have experience of dealer driven HGV finance business and be able to work in a demanding environment where the distributors sales leadership are increasing sales significantly.
You will need to located sensibly commutable to the greater Manchester area where a larger proportion of your time will be invested but also able to manage a territory ranging from Cheshire through to Cumbria.
Package
Base salary range ideally to £40,000 but potentially for an exceptional candidate more may be available. On target earnings are a further 25% and the potential exists to earn up to a further £22,000.
Additional commission is also payable for the successful sale of GAP insurance and for referrals for vehicle insurance to an external provider a further £20 per vehicle insured is payable.
