Job Description : Our client is seeking an International Credit Analyst, Oil & Gas responsible for underwriting large, complex debt transactions using advanced, highly analytical financial methods designed to identify, assess and then mitigate business risks associated with financing projects worldwide..

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Underwrites new finance submissions from global power finance business; transactions frequently will be large, complex and may involve project finance, construction finance, syndications, permanent and bridge finance, specialized leases, subordinated debt, domestic and cross-border US dollar
denominated instruments and may even involve foreign currencies.
Approves proposed transactions within established credit authorities.
Documents and may oversee the booking and funding of transactions.
Functions as part of a team to prioritize submissions in order to assure that experienced analysts are
assigned to the most challenging submissions in order to respond quickly, efficiently and successfully
regarding financing opportunities.
Finds solutions to mitigate potentially serious risks inherent in proposed financing transactions. Overcomes obstacles to successfully close the deal, while not degrading portfolio quality.
Advises on optimal structuring of the transactions, as well as the setting of reasonable expectations on the part of both the customer and dealer.
Formulates and implements an efficient and competent underwriting plans designed to identify,
assess and mitigate all material risks.
Visits existing and prospective financing customers to gather pertinent information for the initial
underwriting, as well as maintain a valid risk profile on existing large transaction customers.
Performs reviews and assessments of existing large transactions to ensure the relative risk rating and
overall portfolio quality have not deteriorated.
Develops and maintains a knowledge base respecting certain regions and countries of the world.
Participates in accomplishment of continuous improvement objectives for the department.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

A 4-year college or university degree in any discipline.
6 years’ experience with a financial institution with a minimum of 4 years’ exposure to credit policies,
procedures and practices; engineering and/or financial modelling and analysis.
Advanced knowledge and demonstrated ability to perform financial statement analysis.
Advanced knowledge of and demonstrated ability to use spreadsheet software to perform advanced
financial modelling.
Thorough understanding of financial math, time value of money and pricing, the implications and
principal aspects of the various advanced financing structures, and how their use will be reflected in spreadsheets, pricing and various other financial calculations.
Advanced knowledge of key financial concepts related to loans, leases, senior and subordinated
debt, capital stock, common stock, preferred stock, warrants, options, and etc.
Advanced knowledge of legal documentation related to the finance/lease industry, both domestic
and international.
