| Job Description : |
Our client is seeking a Credit Underwriter, to assist the Credit team in the underwriting of business proposals, completion of facility reviews, maintaining and improving systems, and the production of information and reports to senior management on a timely basis.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Timely and accurate underwriting of new business proposals introduced through all channels within delegated authority and the provision of analysis and recommendations outside agreed authority levels. Prepare detailed financial analysis including standard ratios identifying all material financial risks and opportunities including commercial issues to ensure that they are adequately assessed in order to arrive at a balanced and informed recommendation. Undertake appropriate level of analysis of the customer finance company portfolio to highlight arrears and portfolio quality issues and potential impact on the strength of the overall credit covenant. Ensure that the facility terms and conditions effectively mitigate risk and correct portfolio coverage is maintained. Undertake customer visits where appropriate to facilitate new business development and assist the sales process. Prioritise workload and seek management assistance where necessary in order to meet internal turnaround times in line with business imperatives. Maintain excellent working relationships with internal and external customers in order to optimise business effectiveness without compromising risk management imperatives. Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and specifically that which relates to Data Protection, Money Laundering and Treating the Customer Fairly (‘TCF’) and attend update training as may be required from time to time. To ensure compliance with SOX requirements.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
Degree level qualification in related discipline preferred. Previous experience with transport, construction and materials handling markets. Preparing larger lending for SME’s and PLC’s. Exercising own underwriting authority. Strong analytical skills Attention to detail and ability to quickly highlight relevant issues. Experience in financial analysis and data analysis. Excellent time management and ability to balance credit and other risk responsibilities. Strong verbal and written communication skills with concise expression. |
