experian credit score

Online used car specialist heycar has partnered with global information services company Experian to help UK customers search for vehicle finance.

The new service also checks whether drivers will get approved for finance, covering hire purchase and personal contract purchase, without harming their credit score.

Brook Bishop, head of strategy at heycar, said: “Experian’s expertise provides our customers with a really powerful tool that allows them to make informed decisions as they seek to complete even more of their car-buying journey online."

The online car marketplace has just celebrated its first anniversary in the UK and now has more than 150,000 cars listed on its site from nearly 4,000 dealerships.

Gerardo Montoya, managing director of automotive at Experian, said: “Many people find talking about finance to be the awkward part of buying a car. We’ve worked with heycar to help people find out what finance deals they are eligible for without affecting their credit score so that they can browse and buy with confidence.”

The brand, which launched in the UK last year, is backed by Volkswagen Financial Services and Daimler Mobility who are joint shareholders.

The UK is heycar's second market; it launched in Germany in 2017.
