Global leasing and fleet management company Alphabet has expanded into the Brazilian market in partnership with local leasing and rental specialist Unidas.
Through the partnership, Alphabet will offer contract hire and leasing, along with additional services such as fuel cards, replacement vehicles, roadside assistance and legal insurance.
Unidas is Brazil’s third-largest car rental company with a 70,000-vehicle fleet, and the country’s biggest fleet management specialist, handling around 82,000 vehicles.
The move marks Alphabet’s first foray into the South American market. It also operates in Europe, Australia and China.
Alphabet chief commercial officer Richard Schooling (pictured) said: “The partnership with Unidas marks an important milestone for Alphabet.
“By entering the Brazilian market, we are further expanding our global presence and can extend our full service offering in this growing economy. We are looking forward to a successful partnership with Unidas, who have a reputation for excellent customer service and are a leader for business fleet leasing in Brazil.”
José Antônio de Sousa Azevedo, vice-president fleet management and investment relations officer for Unidas, said: “This is a wonderful opportunity for us to join a very successful partner who is an expert in mobility and enables us to further develop our products and services for the benefit of all of our clients. By collaborating, we are able to provide tailor-made business mobility solutions that fulfil global enterprises’ mobility demands in Brazil.”
