ALD has expanded its flexible rental offering in the Spanish market following its acquisition of Reflex Alquiler Flexible de Vehiculos for an undisclosed sum.

The deal adds around 2,000 vehicles to ALD’s rental business in Spain and forms part of its growth strategy to deliver value added mobility services to customers with bolt-on acquisitions.

ALD currently manages a fleet of 4,000 flexible contracts with large corporates in Spain.

Mike Masterson, ALD chief executive, said: “Reflex has developed a niche position through a singular product offering, unique IT capabilities and direct access to SMEs.

“This transaction further enhances our strategy to increase the scope of service brought to our customers.

“It is an example of our ability to identify bolt-on acquisitions with key differentiation factors.”

Pablo Martinez, Reflex chief executive, said joining ALD is a key step for the company’s future development.

He said the combination of Reflex’s capabilities and the commercial reach and product offering from ALD would aid growth for the future.

The latest acquisition with Reflex follows on from ALD’s purchase of Dutch leasing company SternLease from its parent company Stern Group earlier this year.
