Well-known leasing industry figure Jay Parmar is to leave the British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association after 19 years.

He will take up a new role as chief executive at JIB, the Joint Industry Board for the electrical contracting industry, next month.

BVRLA chief executive Gerry Keaney thanked Parmar for his long-term support for the organisation, saying: “His contribution during the past two decades has helped to drive our industry forward and his commitment to delivering the highest industry standards has supported our members through times of unprecedented change and challenge.”

Parmar (pictured) joined the BVRLA as legal assistant in 2000 and became a director in 2011. In his role as director of policy and membership at the BVRLA, Parmar was a regular contributor to Asset Finance International and the International Asset Finance Network conference, as well as a wide range of other industry events.

Parmar said: “I am thrilled to be given the opportunity to lead the JIB team. My focus will be to ensure that the organisation remains at the forefront of the industry’s fast pace of change; supporting members and further strengthening the value of membership.”
