Close Brothers Leasing has announced the promotion of James Fletcher to the newly created position of Managing Director, Specialist Finance. James previously held the position of Sales Director, responsible for driving the business’s ambitious growth plans.

The Specialist Finance team is part of Close Brothers Leasing and through HP, lease, loan, and receivables funding solutions, provides finance to the UK middle ticket market, with transactions typically over £250,000 in value.

James is an internal appointment who has spent six successful years within Close Leasing, initially as Sales Manager before being promoted to Sales Director. He has many years' experience within the finance sector, both in commercial finance (finance lease, operating lease, hire purchase, sale of receivables, energy performance contracting) and consumer finance (secured loans/mortgages). His experience includes previous roles working for some of the UK’s leading financial institutions.

James said: “It’s been very enjoyable to lead the team as Sales Director over the past two years and I am well prepared for the challenges that come with being Managing Director.

“I’m really looking forward to building on the work we’ve done over the past few years, as we continue to grow the business strategically within our target markets.

“The team is extremely talented and passionate about the business, and I’m delighted to be a part of it. The next few years promise to be exciting ones and, together, the team will play a key role in Close Brothers Leasing’s continued growth and success.”

Martin Stanley, CEO Specialist Asset Finance, added: “I’m delighted to confirm James in his new position as Managing Director. In every role he’s had with us, he’s been incredibly proactive, making the role his own by taking on the role and responsibilities without prompting.

“This is another example of how investing heavily in our employees really pays off, and it’s always rewarding to promote home-grown talent into new positions of responsibility.”
