The Client:

  • A smaller, dynamic and ambitious bank with a strong presence in specialist business lending including asset finance and structured / wholesale finance solutions to the SME and corporate community.
  • Keen to continue their growth agenda by building out a substantial presence and to compete in the Energy and Infrastructure funding sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creating and deploying an effective credit risk strategy to enable new business growth in the energy and infrastructure financing sector.
  • Personally assessing and underwriting new business applications to ensure growth whilst maintaining credit quality and minimising the potential for bad debt.
  • Working closely with the Divisional Head to contribute to the commercial strategy – transactions will tend to be project finance in nature and from £1 million to £20 million in size.
  • Contributing to the wider asset finance credit risk departmental performance by assisting the credit team in underwriting general asset finance applications.

Key Skills:

  • A proven credit risk professional with experience in structured asset finance, project finance, energy finance, infrastructure finance or wholesale finance.
  • Ideally some experience of onshore wind, onshore solar, energy storage and EV charging and knowledgeable in the renewable and technology funding markets.
  • Broad experience in the vendor, direct and intermediary / broker markets.

This role can be based anywhere in the UK with periodic travel to the company’s offices in the North West and South East of England.
