Motiva Group has signed a deal with automotive software specialists Fleetondemand for new online platform which allow fleet managers to book rental vehicles at the touch of a button.

Richard Dawson, divisional director of rental at Motiva Group, described the move as “a huge step in the right direction” for the company’s M-Way vehicle rentals arm, which currently has a £4m-plus turnover.

Dawson said: “This partnership is a big move for us as it’s the first time we’ve been able to create the ability to book any number of cars, vans or trucks online. Our clients will benefit from a high-tech booking tool and our company will become more efficient as a result.”

Fleetondemand’s platform will integrate in real-time into Motiva’s existing Prohire software system. The software, due to go live in September, will provide consolidated reporting details across the M-Way supply base.

Dawson said: “The reporting functionality enables fleet managers to see, real-time, precisely what vehicles they have, the rates they’re paying, monthly mileages and exception reports. It also gives updates on P11D and Motor Insurance Database compliance. It creates greater fleet visibility and, ultimately, more control.”

In addition, the new platform gives Motiva access to a national network of rental vehicles through the Supplier Genie gateway, should the company need to supplement its rental stock.

Sarah Easton, managing director at Fleetondemand, said the firm’s rental management software is specially designed to create a consolidated and seamless solution across multiple businesses.

“It’s a modern, intuitive system that uses leading technology in a fresh, easy-to-use design and I’m sure it will complement the M-Way operation,” Easton said.
Motiva has signed a three-year licence agreement with Fleetondemand for the new platform.
